Sanaa (Diplomat.so) - Yemen's Houthi movement has issued a warning concerning developments in Somaliland, the self-declared autonomous region in northwestern Somalia, citing security concerns over alleged foreign involvement.
Brig. Gen. Yahya Qasim Saree, the Houthi military spokesman, told Yemen’s "Voice of Yemen” radio that the group is closely monitoring what it described as "enemy plans” in Somaliland region in Somalia. He warned that the Houthis would take defensive action if these plans continued, including the possible use of missiles.
Saree criticized Somaliland President Abdirahman Irro, accusing him of collaborating with foreign actors and threatening regional stability. He claimed the alleged presence of Israel in Somaliland posed a "direct existential threat” to the group.
