Ahmed Yusuf, a local shopkeeper, said, "We fully support the government’s action. Canceling all agreements shows Somalia is defending its sovereignty and protecting our nation’s unity.”

Fatima Ali, a teacher, added, "This decision reassures us that our country’s rights are respected and that the government is standing firm to preserve both our sovereignty and national unity.”

Officials explained that the cancellations were necessary because previous UAE agreements were seen as compromising Somalia’s economic and territorial sovereignty. The government emphasized that future international partnerships must be fair, transparent, and respectful of Somalia’s unity and independence.
