Mekelle (Diplomat.so) - The Tigray Front criticized the air raids of the Ethiopian warplanes on sites in the besieged Tigray region, in an attempt to escalate the internal fighting in Ethiopia.
Adviser to Tigray President Getachew Reda said that while the international community calls on both sides of the fighting in Ethiopia to stop escalation, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali chose to send his air force to attack civilians in a kindergarten in Mekele, stressing that the attack is large-scale on its third day.
Getachew added in a tweet that Ethiopia is in a state of chaos, denouncing the accusations of stealing oil belonging to the World Food Programme by its forces.
Political analysts said that the ongoing war, siege and starvation approach will cause the Tigray region to secede from Ethiopia and declare it an independent republic. All attempts of the African Union to mediate between the administration of the besieged region and the government of Ethiopia, which rejects any international mediation, have failed.
