Mogadishu (diplomat.so) - Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force (SPF), conducted on Saturday an inspection of the main headquarters of the Tax Protection Unit in Mogadishu.
During his tour, he emphasized the importance of integrity and diligence in tax collection efforts while urging police personnel to enhance their work in safeguarding national revenues and highlighting the critical role the Tax Protection Unit plays in the country’s economic stability as he called for a renewed commitment to their duties.
In a firm address, Brig. Gen. Abdullahi warned officers against accepting bribes from trucks and transportation services, stating that such actions undermine the rule of law and damage the police force's reputation while emphasizing that officers found engaging in corruption would face strict disciplinary actions to maintain public trust in the Somali Police Force's effectiveness in enforcing tax regulations
