Mogadishu (Diplomat.so) — The Minister of Commerce and Industry of Somalia, Amb. Gamal Mohamed Hassan, on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of the business community in the Banadir region to discuss ways to strengthen the country's commercial sector.
The discussions focused on challenges facing business growth, improving the investment climate, and developing practical strategies to support both domestic and international trade. Participants also examined measures to boost local production, increase exports, and promote the development of domestic industries.

Business leaders highlighted potential areas for cooperation in import and export activities and emphasized the private sector’s role in driving economic growth and job creation.

The minister said the ministry is prioritizing closer collaboration with the business community to accelerate trade, support industrial development, and contribute to Somalia’s broader economic progress.
