Mogadishu (Diplomat.so) - Somali police reported that a suicide bomber, equipped with an explosive belt, detonated himself on Tuesday afternoon within a bustling restaurant situated in the Hamarweyne market, near the Benadir municipal headquarters. The explosion resulted in the loss of three lives, with several others sustaining injuries.
According to the official police statement, law enforcement officers were pursuing the suicide bomber, attempting to apprehend him before he carried out the fatal act.
