The Director General of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mohamed Hashi Arabey, convened a technical preparatory meeting with diplomats at the Turkish embassy on Sunday to coordinate logistics and details regarding the reception and the anticipated activities of Oruc Reis.
Developed by Türkiye utilizing domestic resources, the Oruc Reis is a state-of-the-art seismic research vessel poised to play a significant role in Somalia’s energy exploration efforts and the ship, which sailed from Istanbul on Saturday, signifies Türkiye's commitment to advancing energy resource development in Somalia.
Oruc Reis is set to arrive off the coast of Somalia by the end of October to commence its seismic research operations, marking a significant collaboration between Somalia and Türkiye. This partnership aims to unlock the country's energy potential, promising substantial benefits for both nations as they work together to explore and develop Somalia's valuable natural resources.
