Tehran (diplomat.so) - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed the loss of four Iranian military advisers during an Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital, Damascus. The IRGC Public Relations Department released a statement on Saturday condemning the action, referring to it as an act of aggression by the "savage and criminal Zionist regime."
According to the statement, the attack, carried out by fighter jets of the Israeli government, targeted the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus. Tragically, the strike resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Syrian forces, as well as four Iranian military advisers.
Additionally, reports indicate that several Syrian civilians lost their lives in the assault on the Mazzeh neighborhood, which is home to several diplomatic missions. The incident raises concerns about the impact on the local population and the potential diplomatic ramifications.
