Somalia: Delegations arrive in Beledweyne for inauguration ceremony of Ugaas Hassan Ugaas Khalif Ugaas Roble
Beledweyne, Hiiraan region, Somalia ( DIPLOMAT.SO) – Clan elders, high-power politicians and civil society leaders arrived today in Beledweyne , the capital of Hiiraan region to attend the traditional inauguration ceremony of Ugaas Hassan Ugaas Khalif Ugaas Roble, one of the biggest chieftains of Somali clans , which is expected to be held tomorrow.
Ugaas Hassan Ugaas Khalif Ugaas Roble, Sultan and leader one of the largest Somali clans, is considered as a symbol of unity among Somalis due of the huge gathering that received his inauguration.
More than a hundred camels will be slaughtered as a feast for all attendees from all over Somalia.
The 20th inauguration of the Ugaas of Hawadle clan is like any other inauguration, will include a lot of invited guests.
Sources say, high level delegations from the Federal Government of Somalia, Government of Djibouti, Somaliland Administration, Puntland State, Galmudug State, South West State, Jubaland State, Banaadir region , Middle Shabelle region, Somali region in Ethiopia , Somali region in Kenya, regions of Sool and Sanaag will attend the ceremony.
Sources say, special forces of the Somali police force, led by deputy police chief Gen. Mukhtar Hussein Afrah with the support of the Somali national army (SNA), as well as Djibouti and Ethiopian troops will guard the historic scene in Beledweyne, Hiiraan region, central Somalia.
The prominent Sultan of Hawadle clan will greet the crowd at the ceremony, and will announce that he would be the cradle of peaceful coexistence .
Sources say, the functions of Ugaas Hassan is to work seriously to achieve peace, reconciliation and harmony among the people of Somalia.
