Rihanna to play iconic role in TV show ‘Bates Motel’
San Diego, California State, United States of America ( Agencies + DIPLOMAT.SO) – The Barbadian singer and songwriter Robyn Rihanna Fenty “Rihanna” has confirmed that she will be joining the cast of Bates Motel for its final season, and will be playing the iconic role of Marion Crane originated by the late Hollywood actress Janet Leigh in the 1960 horror classic, Psycho.
The Umbrella singer appeared in a video in which she greeted attendants at the San Diego Comic Con, a pop culture convention, to announce the news. She said: “Yes hello Comic Con it’s your girl RiRi…I’m about to check into the Bates Motel very soon and guess what else? Guess who’s playing Marion? So all you Comic Con fans, all you Bates Motel fans, stay tuned!”
Bates Motel is a prequel TV show which tells the origin story of the famous villain Norman Bates, played by Freddie Highmore, and how his odd relationship with his mother and disturbing childhood turned him into the title ‘psycho.’ The show has enjoyed a successful four series, and will conclude after its fifth series next year in which Rihanna will star as motel guest Marion, who is murdered while taking a shower in the film’s most iconic scene.
Fans were quick to praise the casting decision, with one writing: “My life couldn’t be more complete in this moment in time!” in reaction to the news, while another wrote: “I fell off #BatesMotel after Season 2, but hiring Rihanna to play Marion Crane is how you GET ME TO COME BACK TO A SHOW!”
This is not the 28-year-old’s first acting role, as the star has previously appeared opposite Alexander Skarsgard in Battleship in 2012, and has made several cameo roles in films including Bring It On and Annie. For more news and stories, join us on Facebook,Twitter , or contact us through our Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com
