Somalia’s President receives credentials from Serbia’s Ambassador to Somalia, Ivan Zikovic
Mogadishu ( DIPLOMAT.SO) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today received credentials from the newly appointed Serbian ambassador to Somalia, Mr Ivan Zikovic.
The President assured the Ambassador Zikovic that Somalia warmly welcomes the new relationship between the two countries, “I am very happy to welcome you to Somalia. My government is ready to fully cooperate with you to fulfil your obligations and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”
In particular, the President noted the Ambassador Zikovic’s plans for development cooperation, especially in the area of vocational training for Somalia youth, “Vocational training is very important for the healthy future of Somalia. 20 years of disrupted education due to civil war means that vocational training required urgent strengthening. I am certain that support in this area will ensure much progress in Somalia”.
Ambassador Zikovic said Serbia stands ready to collaborate with Somalia in several development sectors such as education, science, agriculture, vocational training, and health.
