Mogadishu ( DIPLOMAT.SO) – Members of Federal Parliament of Somalia on Saturday acquiesced PM’s request for more ten days to form outweigh government. roughly 186 Somali MPs have attended today’s session in Mogadishu.

Security forces have been deployed Mogadishu major roads along with security sweeps conducted by the Somali troops. Somalia’s parliament voted for the PM request after a chaotic session held in the capital.

The speaker of Somali parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari said that 139 MPs have voted in favor of the PM’s request, 47 MPs declined amid 4 members abstained from voting.

Somalia’s prime minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke will reshape his government, which is composed of 20 ministers, and will expel some appointed ministers due to the lack of sufficient expertise to manage and performing the functions of the ministries in charge of them.

The new cabinet will consist of 25 ministers, as the members of Federal Parliament of Somalia will vote on February 10 as scheduled.

Recently Somali premier Omar Abdirashid annulled his former cabinet list following a strong opposition from lawmakers. Somali’s political unrest has affected government’s usual progress.
