After bloody battles, Al shabaab takeover on an island in Somalia
Kismayo ( DIPLOMAT.SO) – Al shabaab Militant fighters have regained full control of the strategic Island in Lower Juba region in Southern Somalia from clan militias belonging to the leader of Interim Juba Administration (IJA) Ahmed Islan Madobe on Saturday according to residents and Security officials.
“Our forces this morning [Saturday] have regained full control of Kudaa Island,”. Al-Shabaab’s military operations spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab told to the media.
Somalia’s al Qaeda-linked Islamist group al Shabaab, have claimed that its fighters targeted and killed more than 64 of Ahmed Madobe militants in Kudaa Island, and seized weapons and ammunition stores.
Diplomat News Network did not get accurate information and independent of the allegations of the Al shabaab rebels to liquidate a large number of clan militias in control of the island.
