Somali president attends AU Summit on Terrorism in Kenya
Nairobi (DIPLOMAT.SO)- A delegation led by Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is today attending an African Union Peace and Security Council Summit on terrorism hosted by Kenyan government in the capital, Nairobi.
President Mohamud is among a number of African Heads of State who are participating in today’s summit which is expected to last one day.
The leaders of several African countries are expected to agree on concrete steps aimed at enhancing the ongoing efforts to address the threat of terrorism in the African continent.
Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Investment Promotion, Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh is among the Somali delegation participating in the African Union Peace and Security Council Summit.
The summit comes barely few days after Somali forces and African Union troops in Somalia launched a massive military offensive on Al Shabaab controlled parts of the country.
