Somali army start operations in Galgudud
Dusamareb (DIPLOMAT.SO)- Somali national army and African Union forces in Somalia have today left Dusamareb town, the provincial capital of Galgadud region to launch a military offensive against Al Shabaab militant group in the area between Elbur and Dusamareb districts.
General Sulub Ahmed Dirie, a Somali National Army commander in Galgadud region who spoke to local radio stated that the allied forces will relentlessly keep up the pressure on Al Shabaab to liberate the remaining parts of the region which is still under the control of the militant group.
Al Shabaab militant group still controls several villages in Galgadud region including El-lahelay, El-qohle, El-garas, Hinder and Odweine.
