Warnings and fears of suicide attacks in Mogadishu

Security has been beefed up in the capital Mogadishu as day 17 of Ramadan which is known for Al Shabaab militant group sophisticated attacks is just some hours to go.

Several Somali security forces are patrolling the streets while searching cars and major government buildings in the capital making sure no stone is an turned as far as the security of the city is concerned.

According to the history of Islam 17th day of Ramadan is when Muslim army led by prophet Muhammad peace be upon him defeated the kufar of Quraish in Badar, however for Al Shabaab this is day to reflect the meaning of the victory by targeting what it beleives as a government of non believers .

In the past years several people were killed when the group carried out attacks against government in the capital Mogadishu to honor 17th day of Ramadan which is the victory day. Al Shabaab militant group have increased their attacks against the government since the start of Ramadan.
