After the US forces killed its leader, the Islamic State appoints a new successor
Baghdad (Diplomat.so) – The Islamic State (IS) said on Thursday it had appointed Sheikh Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi as successor to Abubakr Al-Baghdadi.
Abu Hamza Al-Qurashi was also appointed spokesman for the organization.
The group confirmed the death of its leader Abubakr Al-Baghdadi in a recorded audio posted on social media.
The organization did not reveal the image of its new leader, not even his real name and nationality. The cover-up is part of the tactics of the terrorist organizations, which operate more discreetly for fear of attacks by US drones or highly trained US forces.
